#MyAyriVibe

Married to the love of my life, proud wife & mom to two teens. Lifestyle best described as healthyish, working on weight loss and living with sleep apnea,  might as well bring awareness to this silent killer.  Grinding the 9-5 working for my island home, mom blogging by night. All views expressed are my own.

Healthy Meals & Not So Healthy Meals

It’s all about finding a balance and making healthier choices, removing the processed foods and discovering ways to make food more about the healthy nutrients vs the tasty aspects. It hasn’t always been like this for this family.  We have made major steps towards the family goal of being healthier which we will share here on our blog with you. Now were human so well also share some not so healthy stuff too, balance. Nothing wrong with a good burger and fries with nice cold beer on a hot summer day. We do our best.

Living with Sleep Apnea

Diagnosed with sleep apnea I share my journey about living with this disorder. Sleep apnea is not a one time fix, take a pill and it goes away. Sleep apnea is a daily struggle with sleep and having to manage the effects during the daytime. Severe oxygen desaturations result in sleep fragments that don’t allow the body to properly function which can have deadly effects. Side effects of sleep apnea can include a varied range of other conditions like hypertension, diabetes and depression.  Labeled as a man’s diseases,  Ayerim hopes to bring awareness that not only do many women suffer from the disorder. This is Ayerim’s journey to better sleep and overall better health.

Yoga, Meditation & Fitness

We were not always the family to do any of these activities, at least not consistently.  That has now changed after our family was introduced to the world of  Yoga. With regular practice,  yoga really has awakened each of us  (in our own way) to be more aware of our body, mind, and emotions. Working up a good sweet never use to be fun and today it’s a different story. Not only consistently moving, but feeling great and craving the positive vibes daily. Modifying queen on any workout move in my way and just listening to our bodies to find what feels good to us.
